What after the SEE?

A student's permanent SEE record includes the grades achieved in each course, which are assessed against the specific objectives of the curriculum. It is important to note that grades below C+ are considered unsatisfactory for admission to reputable +2 colleges. In such cases, students have the option of participating in a re-examination to improve their grades.

The course you pick after the SEE plays a significant role in shaping your future career prospects. For instance, if you aspire to be a doctor, you should opt for Ten Plus Two Science or an equivalent program with Biology as a major subject. Those aiming to become managers or chartered accountants can choose between Ten Plus Two Management or Ten Plus Two Science, or their respective equivalents.

Why study Science

Science plays a vital role in unraveling the workings of the world and utilizing that knowledge for the betterment of humanity. Science is credited with birthing innovative technologies, inventions, and breakthroughs, thereby enhancing the quality of our lives. If you possess a natural curiosity about the universe–for example, the science related to the intricate workings of cells and all manner of machines, or aspire to pursue specialized careers in fields like medicine, engineering, or the natural sciences–opting for the Science stream would be your ideal choice.

The two-year Science program encompasses subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Its primary objective is to equip students with the skills necessary for continuing future studies in technology, medicine, engineering, biotechnology, information technology, and related fields. An additional advantage of studying Science is that upon completion, students can pursue higher education in diverse disciplines, including agriculture, forestry, management, or humanities.

Why study Humanities

The humanities have to do with history, customs, languages, art, culture, lifestyle, society, and so on. It is a broad field that studies fundamental human values like humanism, hospitality, aesthetics, and social coexistence. This two-year course offers diverse subjects such as Literature, Mass Communication/Journalism, Rural Economics, Population Studies, Sociology, and more.

Individuals who possess a deep passion for pursuing careers in the social sciences often opt for Humanities. Regrettably, despite the comprehensive and extensive range of subjects available within the Humanities stream, it is often disregarded and undervalued by students in Nepal.

Why study Management

If you aspire to pursue a career in accounting, management, or entrepreneurship, this course is tailored to meet your needs. Bachelor-level programs like the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), and BBA-BI are some popular management courses offered by both national and international universities in Nepal.

Upon completion of their 10+2 in management, students may find entry-level positions in banking and finance institutions or administrative roles in private or public organizations. That said, you may require additional training to align your skill set with the specific job requirements.

Depending on your interests and aptitude you could also opt for other options such as CTEVT programs, Education, A-Levels, and many more.
